Part A : "MAGNETIZER" COOLING TOWER TREATMENT
COOLING SYSTEM TREATMENT
A cost effective environmentally friendly solution to conventional cooling tower treatment is the "Magnetic" (mono-pole) hard and acid water conditioner system.
BENEFITS:
· Strap on Design (Does not require plumbing, will not adversely effect pressure or flow rates.)
· Scale control (save chemical costs, reduced maintenance, reduced energy consumption
· Corrosion Control (Magnetic buffers corrosion, controls pH.)
· Save Water (Less blow down required)
· Increased Longevity (Systems last longer without corrosive chemicals.)
Chemicals:
It cannot be stated as a general statement that the Energizer will allow us to totally eliminate chemical treatments. The use of acid for scale control and inhibitors for controlling corrosion, can be totally eliminated. However, the use of chlorine or algaecide for the control of biological growth cannot always be eliminated, especially during warm humid months.
When the Energizers are applied on non-ferrous plumbing the chemicals may be shut off day one. If the plumbing is ferrous, the chemicals should be reduced 50% day one and eliminated on day 30. This overlap is due to the stabilization period on ferrous pipe.
Blow down:
It is difficult to make a flat statement as to how many cycles of concentration the Energizer will allow us, due to the vast differences in waters from one place to another. Numerous reports from satisfied customers have indicated they were able to double the number of cycles, saving 25% of their normal water consumption. In many cases it is possible to increase the automatic purge setting to a conductivity of 4,000 or slightly higher. We must be careful to not go too far with this. The mineral content of the water can get so high that the water becomes thick and soupy, damage to pumps, seals and equipment may result.
Tower cleaning:
Cooling towers are extremely good air washers, airborne debris is picked up by the water flow, ending up in the towers sump. If this debris is not cleaned out the overall effectiveness of the magnetizer is somewhat reduced.
